Good Food
In the Far East it is all about Enjoying Food. The Oriental food culture lives on in my family and in our company. And it’s not just about the dishes you find on our dinner table. It is in the combination of the right ingredients, the preparation and, most of all, the ritual of sharing an enjoyable time with friends and family.

Food is essential in most Asian cultures, at all social occasions and also at business meetings. And, I cannot imagine my family life without our mealtime rituals. It’s important to us, to all be together and enjoy an authentic meal. Good food is a shared passion, a tradition and something we never stop talking about.
I am brought up with an unconditional bond with my family and respect for long friendships. The moments I have shared with friends and family have become part of my identity. The memories often take me back to the meals we shared, in the same way that music can be connected to special moments in your past.

Babi pangang, cold nasi goreng and fried crab remind me of the camping holidays with my dad. The smell of crispy chicken takes me back to my mum’s kitchen and ‘rice table’ with aromatic rice and Soto ayam reminds me of nights at my grandma’s with the whole family gathered around the dining table. Many of my memories are strongly connected to places and atmospheres. Freshly grilled satay takes me to the buzzing streets of Jakarta and Jogya and noodle soup represents the hectic life in Tokyo.

Food triggers and also creates fond memories of people and places. Enjoying a good meal starts with the right ingredients and creative preparation.
One of my favourite passtimes in the kitchen is preparing a traditional satay!
